About Cat On The Wall

Cat On The Wall is a music and culture webzine brought to you by the same folks who created the popular music webzine Funky Mofo. COTW was launched prematurely in early 2007 – there was plenty of enthusiasm but life and its many surprises forced the team to put the zine on hold after the first issue. We’re excited to be back and we hope you’ll enjoy this issue, and the many issues to come!

Feature me? Review me?

We will not deal with PR companies. We prefer to talk to artists directly wherever possible. Managers and independent labels are also cool in our books. If you’d like us to review your music or art we’re going green and only accepting submissions via digital forms (mp3, wav, jpeg, gif, pdf etc..). Would you like to be interviewed or featured? Got an article idea? Get in touch!

Art Is Resistance

We support the Art Is Resistance movement. Get up your backside. Get involved.

We're Back

8th January 2008

So. It has been almost a year since our first issue of Cat On The Wall. Life had taken over and refused to let go... Not that it is a bad thing but in our case it has proved very tiring and somewhat depressing. But this is now 2008.

New Year, New Us, New Cat On The Wall and what best to turn this new page than have the lady who inspired us our name as one of our musical pick of the year: PJ Harvey, with her new sonic jewel, White Chalk. We also liked Saul Williams and his Trent Reznor-produced Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust! and the ladies that form Robots In Disguise with their beat-pumping, girl-affirming soundscapes: Get RID.

In this issue:

An exclusive interview of Rob Bishop, creator of the animated short film 'Ravenspawn and the Willow Man', "guest starring" Noel Fielding, of the Mighty Boosh, and Russell Brand, the ginormous-haired modern dandy.

We hope you enjoy this new issue, the contents of which are not yet finalised so please do pop back regularly to check the new additions.

In the meantime feel free to contact us if you want to talk to us about some music, book, film or other cultural event that you think we should cover.

Before we go, here's the latest update on Saul Williams' latest album, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust:

Enjoy!
